Title: 1.6 with gti cam
Post by: vee-dub90 on 12 August 2011, 00:19
i am going to be putting a gti cam onto my 1.6 jetta, can i just shove it on with the existing cam followers that are being used with the standard cam? or do i use the cam followers that will be coming off the gti head which the cam is coming off?

the 1.6 is the EZ and the gti is PB

So I guess the EZ is mech followers in which case I don't think it will work.

EZ is hydralic

use the followers that cam is used to if there avalible but don't mix them up as there is no advantage in useing them if there mixed up.

you work with the the followers you have in there

The short answer is if they are both hydraulic, then it will fit fine with the cam followers from your existing EZ setup.  I never had a problem when fitting the GTI cam to my old mk2, I cant see you having any either.
