Hi all

Prices etc....
Thanks

Can't go far wrong with a Toad AI606 in my opinion. Reasonably priced at £100 for the unit (+ fitting) and can add a lot of extras to it depending on your budget. Just bought one for mine after a lot of research although I can't comment properly as it's not yet fitted.

Another vote for the Toad.

Toad is the way ahead. Buy one off ebay for £100 and fit yourself, or if you couldn't manage, get a mate who's handy with wires to plumb it in. Awesome bit of kit, just don't pay a monkey to 'chuck' it in for an extra £200-250

People keep telling me the Sigma's are the best for the mk2. Come with a touch panel etc.
Also in a similar dilemma on what to uprate mine with.

Toad a101: 2 immobiliser circuits and an immobiliser i wired up myself. ebay £12 second hand. I havent the battery backup siren but you try and find it to cut the wires
mine will have to be towed away screaming
We have the sigmas fitted on the transits at work, pain in the arris false alarms!
If you have the pennies the toad AI606 is the db's

I had a sigma fitted in my old mk2. Guy who fitted it knew his stuff and did a good job, never had any problems with it.
Never really used the touch pannel but was a nice feature to have.
He recommended it over the Toad.
Have been looking at both again though for my 'new' motor.

Sigma, Toad or Gemini, don't consider any others

I had the old alarm removed and replaced with a Cobra, came complete with the door fobs which operate the central locking, the cost including fitting by an approved engineers was £325 which also includes the certification which insurers insist on having, this also helps when I go to sell the car.
