Post by: se7en on 08 August 2011, 00:41
Hi all, names Kevin... just bought a 1997 Golf GTi Mk3... Needs a few bits doing, but well happy so far.. I've been driving Opels and Vauxhalls for the most of the last 20 years! Had a few temporary diversions along the way, but this is my first VW..... Looking forward to owning, driving and modifying my purchase!

Anyway... just wanted to say a quick hello...

My motor...

Thanks guys. There were a few (3 I think!) spots of rust on it, nothing serious, so that's being done as we speak. I want to fully service it and change the timing belt on it too.. then I'll get to the fun stuff. Don't really know what way I want to go yet. Looking in the gallery for inspiration!! I'm hoping to fully respray it in a bit too.

That's something I never thought I'd hear!! But, I'm hoping you're right. I'm loving it so far anyway, and I do think the VW scene is a lot more 'alive', and there are definately a lot more bits available for modifying... so, it's all good!
