dodo mellow yellow, am i using it wrong?
what i do is hose the car down inc wheels, do a lap of the car spraying the MY onto the wheels, when i'm back to the first wheel i agitate and do another lap. then by the time i get to the first wheel again to rinse off the dodo it has all dried on again. so i have to scrub and rinse at the same time and even then it doesnt remove all of the baked on dust.
this is not just in the warmer weather btw.
ps i have no protection on my wheels but this will be rectified.
just purchased some wolfs brake duster to see if that does the trick then a bit of protection with colly 476 or jetseal.

MY isnt a strong product unfortunately and has been designed for wheels that have some form of protection on them, just do 1 or 2 wheels at a time which you should find wont dry out as quick,
havent used Wolfs break duster so cant comment on that, chris will be able to shed more light on that one ;)

when my stuff runs out the wolfs will be my next choice.. Chris has got a great vid of him using it and we get discount :cool:

MY isnt a strong product unfortunately and has been designed for wheels that have some form of protection on them, just do 1 or 2 wheels at a time which you should find wont dry out as quick,
havent used Wolfs break duster so cant comment on that, chris will be able to shed more light on that one ;)
yeah i dont think its up to the job for my wheels at the moment, perhaps after a good dose of wolf and some protection it will do its thing.
i just mixed some apc up to use today and it did a much better job than the MY, but my wheels where caked!

also grab yourself some ironx which will help remove more stubborn break dust thats imbedded in the paint.

Mellow Yellow isn't the strongest of wheel cleaners but is still good at it's job.
I'm afraid you have just been using it incorrectly, if you spray on all the wheels it will dry out before you get round them all, it's just not designed to be used this way. If you just go a wheel at a time it should work much better.
Wolf's Brake Duster is the complete opposite, this is designed to be sprayed on and left for a while, it is suppose to completely dry on the wheel (some people have left it on overnight!). Then when you go round with the pressure washer, it peels off the brake dust. This still can be agitated for really bad alloys. Don't forget, you can also use Wolf's Brake Duster (now called deironiser) on your paintwork to get rid of any iron particles, works very similar to Iron X but just a little slower.
As Jimble has posted below, ValetPro Bilberry is a good wheel cleaner and normally my go to wheel cleaner, I love it through a foaming spray head.

I'll keep the mellow til it runs out and use it on my wheels after i have protected them properly, and i'll try one wheel at a time.
