Hi Guys,
When recently replacing my crank sensor I jacked up the car in the wrong place  and it seems to have pushed up a load of rotten sill.
Both sides look gammy. Sorry about crap pics will take some better ones will SLR soon.

I am about to do a load of work myself (Outer CV Boot, Inner CV Boot, Ball Joint etc) but before I shell out on it all I wanted to know if firstly this rust on the sill is MOT failure? It is no where else along the sills and seems to be where its been jacked up over the years and water crept in.
If it is a failure (although not within 30 cm of anything I can think of) how easy are these to repair if I take it to a welder?
Thanks Guys

Yes it's a failure. I've just done mine although it passed MOT with them folded. I just decided to go poking around and found the rust. Sounds like yours were a bit worse though. A straight forward job but takes time to do properly.
Check around all the grommets, they may look sound but rust is hidden under all the thick underseal

How much did it cost to get welded? What does it involve? Removing panels etc?

Cutting the infected area out and fitting new metal. Had my drivers side done at last MOT and cost me £80. Been a recent post about it on here with some reporting less, some alot more.

Were is the best place to buy new sills if u want to replace them?
Cheers

Considering cleaning it out and having a better look.
Guess I need to remove floor carpet etc and the plastic sill trim?
I will wire brush the crap out of it and mallet it back into shape hopefully. If it's no major rust will just re waxoil it up.
What does MOT guy look for with the sill jacking points?

Pretty much it being crushed and rusted to fook. Mine are like yours but not much rust on em, so my plan is also to mallet the fook out of em and get em back to a reasonable shape and state, then waxoil on top and they wont know!

Yea sod it. I will be the last owner of this car and basically just need it to last me another year or two. I would never cover up a dangerous fault but if it's not bad when I dig around ill even go as far as to fibre glass any parts.

I would not be tempted to bodge them, they add a lot of strength

Very true, and testers arent that stupid to overlook them.
