Ok guys, you gotta help me out with a little dispute here.
As you all know, my Golf is Majectic Blue.
I think it looks more blue with a purple tinge, the other half insists that its the complete opposite and keeps telling me its Purple.
Admitedly I know that on close inspection that the car is infact Purple with a Blue metalic fleck, however to me the car looks more blue and has a purple flip in the sunlight.
Is this not the reason why the car is called Majestic 'Blue'? :undecided:
Your opinions please...
-
dont ask me i'm colour blind :P
-
What colour does it look to you then? Just out of interest.
-
looks dark blue :P
btw.. colour blindness affects roughly 3/10 men, and doesnt affect women ;)
i see purple as blue unless its very "pinky".. the most common form of c.b. is a lack in red receptors..
hence not picking up the red bits in some shades of purple.. and some browns can look green... etc..
-
if im honest chick..in that foto i think it looks more purple :embarassed:
Dinx

Looks blue, mines purple...
Loverly Mk3 by the way!

-

If you could find out would be great. We also have a friend who works at the main dealer and can get a discount, so i'll ask him to get a price too and we can compare!
-
Hayley - aint you learnt yet - this lot will never give ya an honest answer! And dont believe me all the time!
You call it Majestic - i was told its Mystic Blue.
Now if it is the same colour - then mine too looks purple in certain lights. In bright sunshine i can see about 10 different hues from blue to purple.
But thats the beauty of it! So why worry? Its a great colour! And as long as you like it then COOL!!
-
I think it really is Mystic, but stupid me got the wrong colour into my head and now I keep saying it. But hey, its original. Does anyone else have a Majestic Blue? He he Me all over eh!
-
Any blue is good
-
It looks a bluey purple to me. I like it anyhow.
Makes me wish I had kept my Mk3.
VW has some strange colour names though. My first Mk2 was called Polar Metallic Silver, but if you asked anyone, they would say it was gold. The various MOT certs had it listed as gold, silver and brown!
-
Crazy intit!!
-
Yep - I love the colour of mine so its
-
Hayley, can't believe how much ur car looks like mine... u haven't nicked it whilst i'm at uni have you? :undecided:
-
Darn, You got me. I dont actually own a golf, I just run round finding other peoples that I like, stick on a few mods and numberplates and then take some pics claiming that its mine. Cant believe you sussed me out!
Seriously though, there are v-much alike arent they. Add on a De-badged grille, lower 30mm and stick in some leather interior and I think we'll have pretty much exactly that same. Oh, and some eye-brows of course. Good job we dont live in the same area eh, otherwise that'd just be plain sad.
-
I'm gonna do the grille and leave it as that for the asthetics... lowered 30mm already  Not sure on eyebrows but was thinking of some crystal headlights... Not sure now after seeing some at the Donny show :undecided:
Just got my induction kit last night, viper kit for £90... totally kosha  Then off to get it Superchipped.. yay! Have you done anything with the engine at all? If so, what and with what results?!
I feel like Joey with his hand twin... we could be famous!
...or mybe not :lipsrsealed:
-
Just realised though that we dont have the same wheels. They look the same in our sig's, but i've just looked at a post in the Chit Chat forum of your car and they are ever so slightly different.
Not that bad after all!
We havent done any engine mods at all, except put on an Eco Tech valve. There is supposed to be a slight improvement in performance, but we bought it for the improved MPG. Havent noticed anything drastic ourselves, but a few of our friends swear by them. The noise it makes is a bit annoying, sound like i've got a braking problem. Bit like a dump valve with a sore throat. :undecided:
Probably wont bother with any further mods. We've put Induction Kits/Air filters on previous cars, and they have knackered most up. Totally killed the Airmass meter on my Xr3i so not gonna take that risk again.

Whats the Eco Tech valve?
Does it work in the fuel feed? If so its to boost the pressure etc.
-

Your opinions please...
I've always thought it was more of a purple, myself...
Mind you, mine's "Royal Blue", but when I got it everyone who saw it kept saying "oh, it's a lovely dark green colour!"
Although now I've had a go with the Meguiuiuiars Quick Clay stuff it definitely looks more blue.
Strangely fluorescent lights seem to bring out the best in it - never looks bluer and sparklier than on a petrol station forecourt at night - iirc Mystic Blue looks at it's most purple then, too?
Ah - hello by the way - I'm new here

No, it goes inbetween the pipe from the inlet manifold to the servo. It puts agitated air into the fuel system. They have been using them on F1 cars for years. Dont know exactly how it works and what agitated air makes, but it also lowers the emissions.
More details are at www.ecotekplc.com (http://www.ecotekplc.com)

Whats the Eco Tech valve?
goes on the brake servo hose into the inlet manifold, supposedly creates turbulence which helps burn more air/fuel mix making it more economical. i had one saw no difference, gave it to a mate and he thinks its amazing. works better on older mechanical injection or carbs to be honest.
sorry posted this at the same time but couldn't be arsed to re-write it!

A big hello to you too!
I like cars with a flip to the paint colour. Keeps them interesting I suppose.
-
Ah - i have heard of those.
I have the other type - forget what they call em. Stop the back pressure but thats all.
