My brother bought a MINI Cooper S from a lady down the road the other day for £1600 because that was the value she was given by webuyanycar.con and their quote was in the window.
@ The OP: That's not even the worst part; they charge a £30 admin fee for buying your car.

Scrap metal place near me at the moment pays £130 per tonne, my old Vento 1.8 went last month after I took a few bits to sell off it, they collected free and paid me £160 as I filled the car with some scrap metal I had lying around as well.

What I don't get is on the TV ad why they have people with their cars. They're standing there going about selling their car and how easy it was etc, so why's it still there then FFS?
-
Quoted me £1750 for my Golf which was £250 MORE than the Audi garage in Bristol were offering as a P/X
Sold it for £3500 in the end though

I dont see what the issue is?
It's a good business model and there's plenty of people who need very very quick cash
(also some prices are higher than what dealers offer in p/x........ I have being playing with trade in's from a mates work, and could make a few hundred ££ easily)

The issue is that they had the cheek to offer £50 - a £30 admin fee. Why bother quoting? I mean, they could quite easily offer £500-£600 which would be less insulting and then make a tidy £200-300 on top.

you have to think they do buy any car but the one's they want are so they can sell on easily. offer low low money for something too old and you won't get a yard full of scrap (ok many mk2 & 3 arn't but you get my drift?)
b.t.w it's owned by the same people as carcraft (need i say more?) :lipsrsealed:

I hered that they have had to change the way they trade/operate after there were loads of complants about the amount stated compared to the real amount offered.
They will get a review in a few months to see if they have improved they way they operate, if not they will get closed :D

That is correct, they don't offer any where near what the website quote.
There was a big thing about it in the press recently.
