Most the ones i have had them but one i looked at yesterday did not. :undecided:
Anyone got a copy of the 1991 spec?
-
Yes. Mine is a 91 5 door on a j plate.
-
No, not standard per se. The final MK2's to be made were a hodge podge as they seemed to bang on whatever was laying around as it was the final production year. Some J plate 8v will have bee-sting aerials, some won't - same with most things. I've heard of some rolling out standard but with 256mm front brakes!
Mine's a J plate run out and has the rainbow interior, but standard fron aerial and only electric windows in the front.

Thanks

8v runout spec (92 onwards) included PAS, front electric windows, rainbow interior and different (smooth) horn push as standard.
Bee sting was an option afaik, as were rear electric windows
8v was never fitted with 256mm brakes as standard

I've got a '91 run-out model 16v 5dr with the rainbow interior, bee-sting aerial, smoked rear lights and manual rear windows. Wish they were electric though!
-
Thanks for the info on the 16V.
I have the VW Audi magazine from back in 91/92 with the review of the runout mk2 8V with the rainbow interior,15" BBS wheels etc in it as i fancied one back then and still have the magazine.
I would have had one of the runout models new too if mk2 GTI insurance in 91/92 had not gone crazy and worked out as 4 times the price for me of the MK1 GTI i was running at the time.

It's a VW - Everything was an extra!!!!
-
Mine doesnt. Mine doesnt have the 16V badge on the glovebox either, or a front GTI badge in the grill, still it all saves on weight and still looks great! :-D

So looks like they were an optinon, thanks for the replies.
Now i just have to work out what budget i have for one and what sort of money they go for
