Title: car stereo security codes

just purchased a kenwood krc-855r mask stereo and changer off ebay, installed it in the car today and it asking for a 4 diggit code now this one writen on the stereo that doesnt work (locks me out for 15 mins). contacted guy on ebay and he is ignoring me (suprise, suprise)

are the websites that claim they give you unlock codes anygood or are they just a con?

and if they are can I just take it to a car stereo store to get it sorted or will it need to go back to kenwood

back in the day i did un lock them for people, norm just solder two points and it would by pass it.
