Hi all been driving the mk4 GTi for 4 months now and time for a remap
Is there anything that anyone can recommend i will need to do before i do a remap?
So far i have installed a forge 007P, N249 Bypass, and a CAI ( E-bay special ))
Im going to drop the oil and change fuel filter too.. car on 70 k

Spark plugs and also see if you eligible for new coilpacks as VW have a massive recall on them :afro:
Check all your pipework, seals and clips are in tip top condition

New plugs?
Get it scanned for faults / check boost hoses for splits and make sure clamps are tight.

Iv scanned it a few time and no codes  did cambelt and waterpump 5 k ago myself just for peace of mind, plug gaps look good, IE not very old but probably will change them, just need to get a yellow spring as i am running with the green one atm as its standard.

I'd go and visit you nearest remapping company from the forum who will no doubt give your car the once over FOC and let you know what, if anything they recommend you to change, remove or service prior to the remap, then the fun can begin

Thanks doc, I think the nearest reputable company is r tech and they are 2+ hrs drive from me! So hopefully do it all in one day
Im confiden it has no problems.

Cool, but be aware that problems such as boost leaks etc may only show once it's been remapped and ran on the dyno
-
Surely there is no turning back from that point but only correcting the leaks?

Upto you, you can get the car back to STD then cure problems then go back - most don't
