If you could have your choice in engine inside a mk4 golf what would it be?, I'm in the process in doing something different with mine? :nerd:
-
erm there is no practical upgrade unless your building what you can buy.
if it's a 20vt you chould put a diffrent 20vt in but for cost gains you'd proably be better off forgeing your engine and getting a fancy turbo and a aslippy diff.
you chould put a TFSI in but a forged 20vt is going to make simlar power outputs but admitely use more fuel.
a 2.0 tdi chould go in but thats a lot of work for the gain over a 1.9 PD with tweeks
ermm supercharge a 20vt lump perhapas if you want to be diffrent but thats been done.

Ok I wouldnt do it, and its not the best I can think of, but its definately different and I doubt if many/any have done it.
Mk4.........VR6.

No real point in building what you can buy, would love a mk2 with a Civic type R lump but for 200bhp would never be worth it.

Well I can make it I have knowledge of engine building but my 1.8 non turbo has gone pete tong I'm aware that this will cost alot but you only live once haha just wondered what would be the best as it will be a track car so nice and light

Add a charger and that would be one niiiiice if expensive blend.
