Title: What's the 1.9TDI engine like?
Post by: Bellend on 31 July 2011, 14:10
Wondering what parts I can use for a conversion bearing in mind  I have a 1.6 and a 2l doner car.

Seen a couple of engines and looms etc and wondering instead of the 2l 8v a 1.9TDI would be a good choice? Petrol bills are getting stupid now so was wondering what they are like?

Easy to get 2l performance out of it?

Cheers. :)

Not for insurance, miles cheaper on a conversion, dunno why.

Wanna keep the 1.6 shell cause it's solid.

Tbh if you tweak the older 1.9tdl mpg suffers anyway.

Excellent engines and bomb proof.

With a few mods its will eat a GTI 8v for breakfast with good mpg too.

It stuck one in my 1.4 so I recommend it.
