Title: Scrape on Speedo fascia
Post by: noel on 31 July 2011, 11:48
I have a noticed a small scrape on the fascia of the speedo dial.  It is annoying.  Does anyone know any rub that would take this away or is unable to be be fixed.  i.e. would any attempt make it worse?

Hi mate, I'd post this in the Detailing section, they will be able to help no doubt.

There is also Halfords Glass polish and scratch remover.

Would I be correct in thinking the speedo cover is plastic and not glass?

Speedo cover is plastic. I've used the Halfords stuff successfully on plastic.

Not sure when you got your car but you could try a warranty claim?
Friend of mine bought herself a brand new Clio and when I had a seat in it I noticed a few scratches  right across the speedo fascia. The car had already done a thousand miles or so but Renault agreed it was a fault and replaced it without any hassle.
Maybe worth a try?

Thanks but No, didnt work with dealer however used Maguiars Plastic X and it did the job.  Halfords don't do the glass scatch cleaner anymore.

Toothpaste, I have used this on my headlight before and it brings them up a treat.  Cheap as well.
