Just on my holiday in Italy (ravello) and coming from airport to here which is about choirs away I have never seen so many near crashes. However it all works out ok as everyone seems to be a it and somehow it all goes smoothly lol
There really isnt a need for lines in the roads as they just drive in the middle swaying and cutting people up all the time.
Scary stuff just glad we got coach and didn't hire a car as I think I would have given up

Have you tried pulling out of a junction, now that's brown trousers time.
Italian drivers do fast and stop. That's it. However, as they all drive this aggressive way you will soon find that they are all very good drivers. You just have to go with the flow and you'll be fine.

.....when in Rome, so to speak.

I found it exciting driving in Italy. Keeps you on the edge of your seat. Makes UK drivers look like a bunch of pansys xD
Driving around the Chamonix area in France is much the same (on border with Italy)

Lived there for 6 months and drove, they are better drivers than here. The bad drivers crash. You know if someone is going to do something, you dont have to guess if he will pull out on you, you know he will so you slow down.
I loved it!

You obviously haven't been to morocco, specifically marrakech.... THAT is an experience.

Only ever driven in Um Qsar just after the invasion in 03' and I was so tooled up no fecker was getting in our way!
Kuwait Cuty was a city full of 'close your eyes and hope for the best' type of drivers.
Now Norway was a different kettle of fish........

My mates family are from Mumbai, I went over there with him for a couple of weeks last year. Rented this little "Maruti" thing for a few days, the seats were a dark brown when I gave it back. Best one was a truck coming straight at me on the wrong side of the road with its full beams on, I just sat there in traffic gobsmacked, waiting to die. Next thing I know my mate is telling me to drive onto the kerb because trucks have right of way no matter what. I then noticed every other car in the queue driving onto the pavement....

So as the road death statistics confirm , the general concensus here is that the only people on earth who can drive properly are northern europeans.

Never been to Bangkok then.. That place is absolute mayhem!! As is China, some serious dodgem style sh!t there! But agreed, Italy is pretty mental!

I have just got back from Rome and agree that the driving in absolutely insane
I'd say it's probably on par with, if not worse than the driving in Thailand
