Just taken ownership of yet another project a Mk1 scirocco GTX with 40,000 on the clock and was wondering if there are other fans out there or even better web sites. I am thinking of 16V power uprated brakes and 15 inch alloys. The only reason because its an auto, Hopwever it has less rust on it than I have seen on some of the later spec Mk2's

I'm a MK1 Scirocco fan mate
I think they're great  Got any pics???
16V power would be good mate! I've got a 16V engine and box ready to go into mine

no pictures at present but it was off ebay, it is light metalic blue, rust problems are limited, worst is the bonnet has rusted through in the middle where the cross member is? how weird. some slight surface rust on the edge of the sills but not even close to rot. and again a slight bit on the leading edge of the inner wings. The interior is mint and all the dash lights work etc. It still has its chrome door handles and three spoke steel steering wheel. The alloys are the originals with no kerb damage or corrosion, just the tyres are all cracked. But best of all it has never had a sunroof fitted to it. really it should be restored to original factory conditon but its an auto :-P. The doors are a little dented and a large dent in the passenger side front wing (looks like something heavy was droped on it.
Does anyone know if you can still get parts for it? speacially a drivers side quarter light glass and the chrome strips that go over the rain gutters.

Nice one............yeah there are a few rocco fans here. I once bought a mk1 scirocco storm (green) with a view to restoring it but closer inspection revealed it was just too far gone to make it worthwhile

Wow, looks like a bargan
-
I used to have a MK1 rocco storm as well, awesome little cars.

How much! (little!) Nice one mate

Nice project.
Sounds like it had a cat sitting on the bonnet taking a pi55 to get rusted through like that.
Get the bonnet sorted, keep it that colour.
Brake conversion, 16v engine in, tasteful retro type wheels big enough to fill the arches better.
Definately like the retro look, keep it clean, street sleeper. Should be a little rocket with 16v power.

Thanks for the comments guys, we took it for an mot today and failed on very little indeed. mostly weak brakes and split tyres (didnt drive it far) but main thing was the quarter light for the drivers door help me get this beauty back on the rd
