I have a set of 20mm lowering springs on my mk3 gti and it seems to be pulling like a car possesed and when you jack up the car you can rotate the springs 360 deg and they rattle like mad, but obviously they only rattle when the car is jacked up. i think the bump stop has not been trimed down enough but not sure if that would make a diffrence, Any suggestions on how to over come this prob and also would that be a MOT failure?
Thanks folks

Have you fitted shortened shock absorbers? and yes it is an MOT failure.

i think its standard shocks that are on it, they came on the car,

Well you need shorter shocks with lowering springs.

Not with a mere 20mm drop he shouldn't though. Sounds like you've either incorrectly fitted the top plates / mounts or have stupidly long bump stops for some bizarre reason OR the wrong springs?

Don't know of any -20mm lowering springs so I suspect they are -35 or -60 :undecided:

It'll be pulling because you need a wheel alignment doing when you lower a car or change suspension

No doubt the camber is miles out but that still wouldn't explain the overly loose coil springs.

Thats what i thought, i knew the tracking would be out but the springs ratteling is a concern as it was not me who fitted them, they are coming off today to get checked out i will keep use posted.
