i need a bit of advice please the pedal is really stiff on my G plate GTI but then i spray WD40 onto the input shaft and it frees up for a while maybe a few days then it becomes stiff again
whats wrong??? :embarassed:

Because they seize up over time.

now im not saying your wrong not at all im going to change the cable but that doesn't explaine why when i spray the input shaft it frees up for a bit

The wife had a citroen xsara (I know, its a sh!t car but it was cheap and got us out of the sh!t when her focus kicked the bucket) and that had a stiff clutch pedal. it was only cured by fitting a new clutch kit and copper slip to the thrust bearing arm etc

the clutch was fine when i first bought it a few months back and i use it every day for work and the guy who i bought it off told me he changed the clutch before i got it :undecided:

i changed the cable today and its fixed it brilliant
car feels so different now

never done one before but yes was pretty easy once euro car cars supplied me the right cable
