Hi everyone, yesterday i set the Air-Con to the coolest setting and it just didn't blow icy cold. It does blow and just the other day i was noticing a funny intermittent knocking clicking noise which might be coming from the pulley which it's on. It's hard to say if thats where the noise is coming from as the noise only happens every now and again. But the Air-Con is not blowing cold when on the coldest setting. Any ideas on what the problem can be?
Cheers Adam.

Sounds like it is out of gas, get a specialist to check it over and regas as required.

Cheers Wayne. I hope it is just the case of getting it re-gassed. I phoned one garage who said that it is a legal requirement to check for leaks first (£35.00)??. Then if there is any leaks/faults it's (£35.00) an hour. Then £55.00 for the re-gas. Phoned another garage who over the phone tried saying it would be more than a re-gas and told me not to bother getting it fixed because of the age of the car because the chances are they will fix one fault just for another to appear?. Well thats him lost business because I do want it fixed.
Anyone else had similar experiences??
Ps. I noticed Kwik-Fit do a re-gassing service(49.00) without first having to check for leaks so surely this isn't a legal requirement like what the first garage said?? I hate the place but looks like it might be the cheaper option....

Had mine regassed about 2 months ago worked perfectly until last week now it doesnt, so i either have a leak or my air con has buggered up !

Avoid Kwik fit, just find a specialist, they test for leaks with a dye then refill as required.

Kerrse can you tell me what symptoms you had that you had to have it re-gassed??

Well been in and had it checked. The compressor is buggered so if I want a new one then it will cost me £420.00 fitted. Think I might just look for a reconditioned one or find one from the scrappies. Might even try and fit it myself....

Yea try find a reconditioned one or good used one if cheap
