Anyone's lights come on in the late evening (5.00pm'ish) when the sun is still out and have no need to have them on?
Is there anyway to change the sensitivity of the this?
-
Mine come on sooner than they would if I had put them on manually, and I'm always one of the first to turn my headlights on.
Are you sure they are not coming on when you exceed 87mph in you rush to get home?

I may do, does that make a difference?? :undecided:

Yes, the lights come on when you get hit 90.
I found my MK5 did the same and I asked the same question about adjusting the sensitivity. Not 100% sure as I asked it AGES ago but Im pretty sure the answer was no.

Thanks Mr Smooth.
Quote from other thread from you:
Hi everyone
I was reading through the owner's manual and found the following:
"If your light switch is in position AUTO, the vehicle lighting and lighting in the instruments and switches will switch on and off automatically in the following situations:
Automatically switched on
-------------------------
When the light sensitive sensors detects darkness.
When you drive faster then 140KM/H for a few seconds.
When the rain sensor detects it is raining and switches the wipers on.
Automatically switched off
-------------------------
When the sensors detect there is enough light.
When you drive slower then 65KM/H.
When the windscreen wiper has not wiped for a few minutes.
This is why my light come on when i hit a stretch of road on the way home from work sometimes.

Nothing like advertising the fact you've been pressing on.

You can adjust the sensitivity for the light sensor in the Central Electronics Module. (Second Module BYTE 1)
There are preset values set by VCDS for the various tints available, the GTI is set to HEX 30.
You should be able to set this value from HEX 0 to HEX 64 (100%)
I think that the higher the value the later the lights should come on, haven't tried experimenting with it.
-
You can also turn off the Auto lights if going over 90MPH or when the wipers come on.

Yeah. I also think the days of "I thought the limit was 130mph Officer" in France are over now.
