Its too much for that shell but I'd keep my black one for corners.

Love it but shame it has a VR6, not the best choice of engine for a mk1.

Yeah but if i kept mine I could live with it.... not too keen on the speedo being so out of the way of the drivers view.
-
WOW i love this !!!!!
not keen on engine choice but the car looks fantastic

whats so wrong with a vr6 mk1!

whats so wrong with a vr6 mk1!
Same thing that's wrong with it in a MK2 but worse, as DH put it, it's a lumphammer

Oh dear this old chesnut! You'd find a mk2vr on reasonable suspension doesn't drive particularly differently to a standard mk2, unless your name is Michael Schumacher or Thomas Cowley.
Lets not forget the 1.8T is allegedly just as heavy with all the ancillaries.

Meh... fact is, i'd still have it!
I bet it's not that bad, just not a track car!

Precisely. I'm not sure anyone could successfully argue the point of using a mk1/mk2VR as a track car. As a road car however, it will make all the right noises and still put a smile on your face. Lets not advertise racetrack-style driving on public highways... :nerd:
Back on topic, I like it however its a bit to showy/clean for me to consider using as a daily (says he with an orange car)

Oh no! of course not a daily, would never enter my mind. it's better than mine and I wouldn't even put mine through the pain of being donkey.

Dials are all wrong. This car would be perfect with a 1.8, 16v or even an 8v G60 in there.
Im just being picky tho, would definitly have it how it is.
-

Too heavy for a mk1, makes all the right nosies but 16v / G60 is a better choice.
-
Stunning car, well priced too

I thought it was fairly priced and to be honest I'd pay the money for it regardless of the engine. Its a very old series 1 on a rare plate (how many R reg's do you see about), it's immaculate with decent wheels and anything that's not to taste can easily be swapped.
-
is it wrong that i dont like a lot of it, like the engine, and the dash

No not at all, As per title, but I still wouldn't say no to it if I could keep mine too.
-
I keep coming back to look at this.
It's actually almost as cool as the red cabby on bullet steels you posted not too long ago.

Same car from VW Whitenoise 2004

after looking at the 2004 pics and the new images the car looks a lot better on the new rims and
without the beetle chrome peaks on
would love to have it in a garage with my mk2

I totally agree, its just a shame they didn't leave the old motor in as then it would have been perfect.
