Title: Strange banging knocking sound

Started up my 150pd the other day, noticed like a knocking sound after it had been running for about a minute. Got out, had a little check out. Couldn't see anything major (I am by no means a car mechanic, more a of a car enthusiast!) Took of the engine cover for a better look, had a little fiddle around and the knocking stopped. Then proceeded to drive 160 miles home, stopping at 2 service stations for a quick check with out any problems. Had a quick run to the shops today and the knocking was back!? I am now slightly more worried...Anyone have any rough ideas?

Started it up today and no problem at all...anyone any small ideas?

A friend sorted a noisy pd engine with a small dash of two stroke oil in the fuel (like an egg cup's worth in a full tank). Cant remember the details of what it was to sort out! Excessive diesel engine noise of some sort.
