Title: 16v issue

My mk2 16 ticks over spot on starts fine bt the pump under Neath the car whines
None stop , soon as u pt ya foot dwn
 under load the car loses all power and then trys to go bt jerks

Any help wud be grateful

sorry mate first check in tank pump is working as this can put strain on the main pump underneath, but if its already whining then i would say pump is on its way out, if the in tank pump has died then that is the cause of main pump failure
