Title: Am I the only one...
Post by: scarr89 on 24 July 2011, 14:57
I only get the chance to properly clean my car every other weekend, so when I do I normally spend a good couple of hours doing so! I can't help noticing all my neighbours and people up my street look at me funny when they all drive past and when they see me with a massive wash green wash mitt on, and all sorts of cleaning products all over the front lawn!!

Am I the only one who gets these funny looks?!?!

People thought I was mad washing my car in the snow. I was having new Tyres and didn't want the weights to fall off so cleaned the wheels with my big coat on. Some of my friends thought I was bonkers. Lol

i usually point out that i'll need the car for at least 3 days, and 100 quid will cover the products, probably

That said one of my neighbours came up to the mrs in sainsburys today and started asking her if i'd do his car. Got home and went round to see if he was serious - he's my favourite neighbour i'd do it foc and he'd done it and hurt his back

bit bad when he addresses the mrs as "mrs clean your car man"  just as well i'm working this weekend or he'd no doubt be signing our cards the clean car couple

I think this ALL the time. I've never seen anybody on our estate wash their car. My neighbour has just got a e46 330 coupe. It's minging. Ive not seen him clean it yet!!

This afternoon I worked, wash, dried, polished, waxed and done the glass on the bora. On the mk2 I've wash, dried, done the glass, done the plastics and given the RMs a good going over.

I want to do more, but 9.20 on a Saturday night is late enough

I once started at 9:00am and was still out at 10:20pm

I did everything and I do mean everything, including the boot, engine bay, removed the wheels etc etc.

Even I thought on a few times during that day, "What the hell am I doing"

I must admit id not do that again, the next day it rained and even though the wax prevented contact, the car still got dirty so...............

I don't know what the bug is though. I just enjoy washing my car! Even if it isn't overly dirty! Dad thinks I'm mad when I say I'm going to clean my car every weekend!

People may think your mad but there the mad ones........ They leave there car til its filthy then its more difficult to clean and more prone to damage from the grit and other dirt. Keeping on top of it just makes sense to me and plus your car always looks its best. I know friends with really nice and expensive cars that don't look nothing special basically because there filthy.

Plus a quick detail only takes a couple of hours yet the results are impressive
