Depends on the age, the pre face lift cabs had different door cards to access the rear you need to remove the window handles with and allen key and pull apart the door rubber which leads along the edge of the card it will just pull out its kept in by plastic clips. The speakers are tiny they are smaller than what are in the front and rated at around 20watts if that. 3 inch sqaure something like that, you can adapt the metal plate that holds them in to house the oval type speakers situated in the front or you can use a mk3 front speaker size, Alpine do a universal one with lots of holes in which to fix it by onto the body and punch a few more holes in the door card to extend its speaker grill, you need a shallow speaker if you intend keeping it in the same place as the window will catch it on the way down otherwise.

On the later cabs the oval speakers used in the front of the old cabs was adapted to fit in the rear instead of being in the same position fixed to the bodywork the speaker is underneath the window handle and mounted on the door card itself.

I have Infinity 452i 6x4 105w fronts and Infinity 452i 4x4 in the rear. Both sets fit in the original speaker locations without any damage to the door cards. The sound is good but won't win any competitions!"!"

I have rear wired so the balance is fullt operational for a 1984 Standard mk1 cabby
