Title: lowered suspension+knocking sound now

lowered my car with standard shocks and now getting a bit of a knocking sort if sound when you go over sleeping police men or bump in the road. if you open the bonnet as i cant remember the mount seems to stick up a bit can remember if it was like that before if some could check theres for me and me know thanks.

How low have you gone mate, it's probably knocking on your ARB.  What year is the car?

you can get some things from venommotorsport that move the arb so it dont catch they are about 20quid very common problem

Should'nt be catching arb on 35mm, never say never tho :undecided:

i have heard of this but i have also heard it if you go 40mm+ whats the best way to check this because ov i cant do it coz it only does it over bumps.

i get a slight knocking sound when i go over bumps and pot holes, my cars not lowered, but the state of the roads around where i live and the amount of speed bumps as well, iam surprised my car is still in one piece!!! poor thing.

its a p1ss take, pay my road tax for what??? to hit pot holes that shake the hole car, its not on!!  :angry:

well i think the shaft on the shocks are to long might as well sell the spring an get a set of coilovers.

Have you tried changing the ARB bushes, same knocking noise was there on my car (V5) changed them and noise gone, they only cost around £10.00 each from the VW Steelers.

thats not bad might change them then worth a try for a tenner each are they hard to change.
