Title: Steering wheels?
Post by: craig4004 on 21 July 2011, 17:08
Just wondered if anyone knew what size the standard 3 'spoke' steering wheel is off a '01 mk4 gti? Also looking to get a flat bottom wheel, would the new scirocco/eos one fit? Cheers

Can be done but - no guarantee it will activate in the event of an accident

Oh ok that's cool, thanks for those links but none showed how to fit one, any idea if it would be a lot of work, and a new boss/steering rack?

Would look awesome, but with what I just read about having an unpredictable airbag sitting infront of you, I'm staying way clear :lipsrsealed:

I think I'd rather have my face impaled by a mk6 steering wheel than an airbag, they are not pleasant so I would probably run without one tbh. I think maybe having a word with someone who had already done swap and see what the process would be. Thanks guys :)

How would they no there's no airbag in there, if I get a blanking pin for the airbag sensor and hide it, surely would be ok?
