Title: First time colilover - er
Post by: nise on 21 July 2011, 10:38
Benefits of fitting Coilovers to my mk 3 Gti! Suspendssion has recently gone on the rear which is running lowered |(60mm) springs and shocks! Just got some money together to get her back on the road and a mate mentioned fitting coilovers.

What do you think? Pro's and Cons anyone.

cheap coilovers are a no go unless you are not worried about comfort. uprated shocks and springs much better if you only want to drop a little bit more than standard.

i run ap shocks and springs 40/30 drop and im very impressed.

coilovers can vary hugely... cheaper = hard ride & lower quality and expensive are £300+ (upto £800+ for the best)

you get what you pay for

Basically you need to decide whether you want to be comfortable or not and then assess your budget before making a choice on which kit.
