which golf have you got mk2 or mk3 , on mk3 there is a allen key which you can use to manually close the sunroof on mk2 is on the winder only.

As this is in the mk3 section id throw it out there that you have a mk3
Like matey said if you pull back the square plastic cover next to your sunroof switch/interior light, you will find an allen key in the shape of an s.
You will also see a manual overide switch on the actual motor.Turn this 90degrees then stick your allen key in the hole and start turning.
If you find it is still not going back look up at the sunroof from inside and you will see a plastic cover, covering the runner on either side.Unclip it and slide it back into the roof(not too far as it is a b!tch to get back) then as your winding the window home look at the shiny silver claw on either side.Gentyl coax this the way you want it to go(to the back of the car to close) while turning the handle to get your sunroof back to the home position.
