Title: Iphone 4 Personal Hotspot
Post by: DC90 on 20 July 2011, 22:38
Having a little trouble trying to get this working.
I've got an iphone 4 running 4.3 on 3 network. Personal hotspot is switched on and password setup.
I have a macbook and when I open network preferences it doesn't see the iphone under wifi.

Anyone had this or know how to get it working? Cheers

Im pretty certain that to use the internet tethering (as I think its called) on O2 you need to pay an additional fee depending on how much data you want to tether across. Not sure if thats the case with 3.

No tethering is included. I have always used it via usb on my vaio and now my mac. Used it once over blurtooth too. Wifi is just more convenient for work.

Haha. You would have thought though an apple phone would work perfectly fine with an apple laptop.

you can use this via the cable also for better connection speed. mine works fine, but i have found it best connects when you have wifi and bluetooth switched off on your phone, then switch on the personal hotspot. it should hopefully then prompt you to turn on your bluetooth and wifi instead of only USB.
