Hi all
Not sure if this is really ther right place to advertise but does anyone have any experience with a 215/40/16 tyre on a 7.5j rim? Since putting my Borbets on - fronts fitted with this size tyre, my front end has been really lively, wallows alot. I was wondering if it was due to these tyres seeming oversized or if it is because the make isnt overly amazing?
Whats peoples thoughts.
Thanks
David

What pressures are you using.

im suppose to be running these on my rear which are 9j

Should be the right size for that rim. I've got 6.5 wide 16's and run 195 40's on the front.
Like Wayne said check tyre pressures and if not that could be some of your front bushes?

Erm... i think i put 32psi in it to see what it was like, but through shear ignorance i have no idea if this is the correct psi? Definately not bushes though as it was fine before i put these wheels on.
More food for thought, what are VR6's like in the wet, do all of them struggle to put any power down?

Bump.

If I remember you had problems with the offset if so that might not be helping.

I have these tyres on my TT Speedlines, they are great in the dry but in the wet it's another story! I've not found a VR6 that handles nicely in the wet...

What tyres are they, nankangs?
I run 215/35 Falkens on 9.5's and don't have any problems.

You remember correctly, but please dont say that! I love my wheels! If i cant improve it i will have to take that into consideration.

Mine is very similar, the wet is awful, dry however seems to be fine. Are all VR6's notourious for poor handling in the wet?

They arent Nankangs, but a similary poor make i think, came with the wheels so could be the brand i guess??

Well a low offset will screw up the steering etc so they will not be helping.
