Just wondered what peoples views were on them and if they are any good?
-
They are quick when tuned, by quick i mean fast at breaking down of course. When they work they are nippy though. Had one leave me behind before!

GOD NO, vauxhalls astras are arwful cars suffer with electrical, engine and gerbox problems
-
look horrible
suprised one left a S3 behind tho, i guess those new S3s have a lot of weight to carry :undecided:
-
He has about 260bhp/ton vs my 195bhp/ton (based on ive heard he is running about 350bhp) the noise of his excess turbo gases nearly broke my windows lol

So do VW's.
I drove an Astra recently and it was flipping awesome. Very precise drive, very nimble, precise steering, nice firm responsive suspension.

Definitely wasnt an Astra VXR then as i have never heard anyone say they are nimble, or have precise steering! I found it awful when i drove one, felt like the suspension set up was made on a friday afternoon in a rush.

Don't know about the astra, but a bloke at work has the corsa vxr and that thing is epic, only trouble he said is you absolutely can't put your foot down on a wet road or its exit stage left.

Or modify it or it breaks!

That must be quite powerful then.
He should try Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres, bloody awesome in the wet.

I think it's pretty well 'shod' but it suffers from serious torque steer ,190bhp through the front wheels and a peaky turbo.
-
I thought the Astra VXR's had 236bhp or something.
I was surprised I could keep up with one on a private track in my boggo standard Mk5.
-
my mate has had both the astra VXr and the corsa, both pretty quick but nothing special, id deffo not want to own either
Look very chav too do the corsa's, id sat a clio cup would be a better choice if going for a small hot hatch or the forthcoming Clio williams (classic re born )
-
drove a gsi astra turbo, the front and the back of the car dont feel connected through cornering, the steering is a bit vague.
recaros's are nice though
-
They are bringing back the Clio Williams!? Awesome
I have never driven one so wont comment too much but I quite like the Astra VXRs. Cheap and quite nippy if the power figures are anything to go by (your right bobo, they are 230 something bhp). Matey boy down the road has a black Corsa VXR and not really a fan of that, a bit too much over the top. The Astra VXR styling is quite understated liked the MK5.
Also a big fan of the hot Clios and even went to look at a nice Cup one down the road (white with black wheels) but the interior was absolutely gash! Looked like a standard Clio which put me right off.
-
alan, clio williams making comeback now renault are working with williams F1 team, was in auto express last week, sounds special 240bhp too

I like the coupe turbo's go well and all parts from the new VXR can be bolted on simples...
The gsi is a much better tool though...
Had 2 astra 2.2 sri's, great car, never had any problems....
