I have a new 11 plate red 3 door GTI in the carpark just next to mine at work and i keep looking at his rear lights. As much as i like the lights his are far far too light and pinky red coloured and i much prefer how dark coloured mine are, but a combo of both ie R lights i keep hear calling me.
Anyone know the current retail price of the R rear lights so i can figure out what sort of discount ive been offered.
1x 5K0 945 093 Q (Inner Light)
1x 5K0 945 094 Q (Inner Light)
1x 5K0 945 095 L (Outer Light)
1x 5K0 945 096 L (Outer Light)

Some of those part numbers are superseded now.

Thanks Mike.
I just gave them the numbers and asked for a price. I guess they just went by the new numbers and did not say anything about been superseded.

Thanks £506.84 from Mikes prices is the RRP price from VW. I wonder if Awesome include the adaptors in that price?
I have been offered them cheaper than the Awesome price from a local VW dealer.
Just i will have to order the adaptor leads from German ebay at around ~£35 delivered or make the adaptor leads up from parts from VW that im yet to price up but iirc they worked out more expensive about a year ago.
4 x 7N0 972 703 - LED Connector Housing
4 x 191 972 713 - Standard Taillight Connector Housings
6 x 000 979 150E - Repair Wires for LED Connector
6 x 000 979 129 - Repair Wires for Standard Taillight Connector

Drop SteveP a PM mate, he might have some that you can have.

The last time i asked SteveP the price from German Ebay for a copy harness was cheaper than he was getting the parts from TPS to build them, but that was last year when the exchange rate was better. It maybe cheaper to get the parts and DIY it now than buy them off German Ebay ready built.

Geoff: Why don't you offer Gilly some lolly for his rear LEDs as he's getting rid of POSH soon.

I will be advertising these on this very forum when the time comes... I will give you a heads up before hand

Jimble: You can have first Dibs as i now remember you asking first. I have been offered a couple of good deals on new ones so the secondhand ones may not be that much cheaper anyway for me.

The smoked R LED lights is simply the best mod you can do on a mk6. I bet they ruin them on the mk7.

I agree. I kept looking and admiring mine every night for a month. Still do but not that often. I can see the envy and then shock in driver's eyes when I brake and then blind them.

Thanks

That's a blooming good price.
I paid around £400 for mine. But that was when my sisters other half worked at audi.

I'd love to put the LED lights on mine but I'm sure I've read/heard somewhere I can't fit them on mine cos it's a July 2009 model. Something to do with CAMBUS (whatever that is).
Anyway, is that true? And if so has anyone found a way round the problem yet so I can finally get these pesky lights?

Your problem is that your BCM is the older version and doesnt support rear LED's. You can change the BCU, I bought mine from eBay.de, search for '1K0937087D'
I think you can fit the LED's with your current BCM but you get a bulb out message. People who know more than I do will be along soon
Jim

Ah, at least that's more promising sounding Jim.
What's the BCM?
(Please forgive the ignorance if that's a really thick question)
-
im pretty sure you can fit them andy. mine is an 59plate (sept 09) and mine has them fitted. If you really wanted them you could turn up when i take mine out... as you are local. :nerd:

To know for sure you'll need a scan by someone with VAGCOM to tell you the version of BCM you're running. Once you have this you'll know for sure if you can fit the lights without changing the BCM.

Mine is the same build date and I no prob's with the BCM. SteveP coded them in for me. Best mod on the car ( in fact the only one at the moment  )
