Title: Todays larking..
Post by: Dave_IOW on 16 July 2011, 17:40
Right modified standard airbox to fit VR6 MAF, and also a sexual 70mm duct

Going to have a trumpet mounted in a front grill   :smug:

Also, wheels came off for MOT so gave them another coat of black, some shiny red bits, and this time lacquer to hold it all together.

You cant see them on car yet as run out of both the red shiny bits and the lacquer

The stripes look abit salmon coloured  in the pics, but i can assure you they are very, very RED

maf depends on injectors you decide to use more than the turbo..

Very true, when you take out the original MAF from airbox, you will see the plastic tabs that house the big rubber o ring.

Remove these, and the inner circle that holds the o ring in the other side and the vr6 MAF fits straight in without anything else needed!

Once you have a look at the original airbox lid, you will see what I mean straight away!

Thing is, if you going past stage 2 (ko4-001, gt35 etc..) its recommended you use a cone filter, anything less you don't need a bigger MAF, so renders this golden guide pretty useless!

If your AGU and injectors and pump are nackered and doing this for stage 2, it might be usefull to someone though.

Can't take pics as haven't got either of them at my house, they are at Wazzzers for testing, until he finally gives in and gets a 001

one question, do you need a different TIP to fit the VR6 maf?. also the turbo, if you go k04 would you then need a different tip for that also?. reason i ask the latter is because i plan to use the k04_023 housing and compressor wheel
on the k03s

Jamie, expect you will have to get s3 silicone tip.

I'll be using 001 so same housing as ko3s but with a 023 compressor wheel, not housing so should all still fit.

Vr6 MAF goes in if you heat the TIP up abit and use some lube   :lipsrsealed:

Bricey, you know the deal mate
