Has anyone used an Elring G60 metal head gasket on a mk2 16v?
Just offered the one I bought up to the block on my turbo engine and everything lines up perfectly except for four of the outside channels which aren't quite in line, they are close but not quite there...

Better to use a 16v gasket, you might block off a water or oil way.
-
I went out and had another look and i think i might get away with it, its only partially covering the four really small outer water ways, everything else is spot on.
Been looking on the net and I think people have used these gaskets on turboed 16v's.

Even the proper valver gaskets overlap slightly, i wouldnt worry

Just spoke to Stealth racing and the G60 head gasket is fine to use, even with the slight overlap! phew
-
the later mls gaskets are the best to use. they are much more durable
i actualy found g60 headgaskets wernt all that good

Well the head is back on with the G60 gasket so will see what happens I guess!

Not gonna change it now its on, but for future reference, where do you get the multi layer steel gaskets from?
The G60 one I put on was steel and had three layers, just a slight overlap on the small outer water channels.
