Well i was meant to go collect my car today, they said they had loads of boost problems.
Seems the map sensor was the problem  When the garage built my car they put the s3 map sensor on and not my golf mk5.
my question is. Are they really different? I had to post my old one to them  won’t get the car back till Tuesday now
can someone look on etka please
-
One 2bar and one 3bar? Something sounds fishy!
-
just downloading etka 7.3 to find out lol
-
yours will be a 2.5 bar sensor 038906051D while the S3 uses 3 bar 038906051C
-
cant u use 3bar one? they siad they cant do anything with it?
-
no easy solution to that one. Certainly none easier than posting them your original map sensor anyway

Sticking with the 2.5bar sensor match to your ecu code is the safe and easy way forward.
The problem is software code with ME ecu its a killer to rescale the boost scale map which converts the 0-5v scale in to hpa and get the code to read over 2.5bar. But if your looking for 330bhp your going to be clipping the map sensor scale, which still can be mapped but means a lot of time dialing in the open loop side of the Boost control and could cause spikes in the winter. I would have started looking to use an ED30 map structure as a starting point as from past custom tunes reads 3bar pressure. But I have never tried to reverse flash code on tfsi ecus in theory should work and no risk me7 1.8t are fine with it.

We all have days like this but try to remember that good things are worth the wait - at least they are taking their time and doing it right
