Mmate crashed his van swerving to avoid a car on a bend he was going round doing under the limit but going too fast really.
2K worth of damage. 40mph.
Was at a party and I wasn't drinking so I went to get it in my Golf and just see 3ft of van and a massive bush.
Wouldn't reverse so I towed it out with my Golf which was an absolute b!tch to do, had to kinda rock it forwards. Then see the damage. Wishbone is quite remarkable.
I haven't had a proper accident yet other then hitting derv at 8mph and twitting my fresh bumper and wing.
What bout you lot?
-
My first & only was about 13 years ago. Rear ended  a young lady at a roundabout when she pulled onto it, and then decided to slam on her brakes and change her mind! The fog lights on my XR2i took the damage
I hope I have not jinxed my record talking about this!

when i was younger i was in my mums mk3 fiesta and was messing about with lift off oversteer on a roundabout, showing off to friends in the car behind.....
managed to get the arse out and looked pretty impressive until it snapped back and i tried to correct it and ended up with opposite lock hitting the outside kerb smashing 2 wheels up, then snapping back the other way and getting a little air and landing on a bollard centemetres away from a lampost!!! not clever to mess with lift off when you dont know what your doing!!!!
another time also a lot of years ago.. i was passenger in my friends car and we had been out for a game of golf. on the way home we tried to take a short cut down a country lane but it turned out to be a dead end.... anyway we got turned around my mate booted it back down this narrow lane, we turned a blind corner too fast and about 15 metres away was the junction to the main road (bank holiday, busy road leading to bridlington!) .... anyway we locked up, clipped a verge, went up on two wheels, the two wheels in the air hit a lamp post, we then skidded right across the main road and through to the other side of the t junction and missed every single car on their way to the beach!! very bloody lucky! what made it worse for my mate was that it was his sisters 21st party back at his house and his dad had to come and collect us.. he was in a spot of bother for a very long time!!!
-
There have been a few but my 1st was seeing how fast my bosses pride and joy(Rover 220 Tomcat Turbo) would go round a twisty b road.
Turns out, pretty fast but not with a 17 year old behind the wheel.
He only lent me it to get home as i was just in the process of putting a redtop in my Mk1 Astra.
Needless to say he wasn't chuffed

I was at a roundabout. Crosshands east bound for those who know. I was on the clutch bight point waiting to pull out when I got smashed from behind and launched into the roundabout. Luckily there was nothing coming around the roundabout. The car that hit me was full of oap's. Hit me at about 30 mph. I overtook them approaching the roundabout and they looked like they were all deep in conversation. Their vauxall front end was a right mess. I was in a Toyota Corolla. And no, I didn't call claims direct. This was in 2004.
-
i crashed my old mans car 4 days after paasing my driving test and bumper the neighbours pug (only his rear light broke which he replaced himself for £20) and luckily for me my dads car stalled otherwise i would have drove into his garage and created another entrance to it

Similar what happened to me, except I stalled the Golf and the Merc behind me just slammed straight into me pushing me into one of the busiest roundabouts in Oxford - luckily there were no cars coming around. They're now turning it into a 'hamburger' roundabout due to the traffic congestion around that area.
Touch wood I've never been the cause of an accident or crashed a car.

I had a fairly big accident in a rover 220sdi a few years ago, I was going a bit too quick for the road and heard a screech from the tyres and thought that was it. I broke my heel and nose and had to be cut out! Needless to say my driving has calmed down a bit since.
-
A week after I passed my test, a stupid old woman crashed her Mondeo into my Cinquecento along a country lane.
Was fuming.
Didn't really know what to do either.
I've not had any other crashes... But when I was 11, on the morning of my maths Kent test I had a head on crash in the taxi driver's vauxhall corsa into an escort van, and when I was about 6, I was in the back of my Mum's mini cooper when it was rear ended in Minehead. No seat belts either.
-
my first accident was going into the back of a driving instructor :lipsrsealed:
he had stopped round a blind corner on a country lane to let a tractor out and i kinda aquaplaned dwon the hill and smacked right into the back of him! luckily it was just him wasnt teaching anyone at the time

Could have been worse, could have been your old driving instructor, don't now who would be more embarrassed then?
-
smashed the back of a limo while on a driving lesson
they were late for their wedding

Never had an accidental crash, but with my first car I used to crash into my mates car all the time (and vice versa)
I used to use his rear bumper instead of my breaks in the drive thru.
One day he was reversing out of a parking space and I T-boned him, later to get back at me he got out of his car when I was parked next to him and put a huge dent in my door, I just lay across the seats and kicked the dent out!
God bless £100 first cars

summer 2005, t-boned by a mitsi warrior....needless to say it hurt like buggery!
on the plus side, it removed another astra from the roads!

Was racing(properly on track with marshals etc) in the wet car went left, right, left again, spun round and was left perched on a load of tyres saying to myself WTF?

Aged 18, in a mate's Micra. Four of us were heading to the beach. It had rained heavily the previous night and the ususal road to the beach was flooded. Went down a different road and aquaplaned straight into a wall  Luckily nobody was badly hurt as my mate was driving sensibly, one guy chipped a tooth and we were all a bit bruised. I had a hot chocolate in my hand and when we crashed it all splashed against the windscreen. My friend was properly frightened by it and said 'oh god I thought it was your brains after bursting out'
-
i reversed my van on top of a lotus elise which parked so close behind me when i was doing a delivery and didnt see him at all :lipsrsealed:
the owner was ok about though

I had quite a few bumps and scrapes when I moved to surrey from cornwall, so used to country roads with no one else on them
First write off though (yes there have been a few of those as well) was coming back from my girlfriends at about 1am around xmas time must be about 6-7 years ago now, round a corner at about 50 in a 30 zone, hit some black ice and went sideways, then all of a sudden caught some grip and went zooming off into and up the kerb, through a fence, and into a lamp post. Brand new 04 Corsa written off and 5k of damage to the fence and lamp post
Also no seatbelt so flew forwards ripping all the stalks off in the process, chinned the steering wheel, and smashed the windscreen with my head. Amazingly I wasnt hurt in the slightest other than my chin was aching a bit, so got out and phoned the police :P
Looking back I was very lucky, and calmed down with my driving a lot. Managed to write off 2 other cars since then but they both wern't my fault! No crashes now for 5 years woohoo!
-
First accident was my fault, drove into the back of some girl at 5mph and bent her bumper (mk2 Fezza).
2 years later she sued me for 5k, god bless the no win no fee cockroaches!
Apparently she could not ride her horses anymore or take part in her ballet classes, best bit was she claimed for her dad to weed her garden.........
She lived down the road from me at the time so did not know I saw her going running with her bad back, what goes around comes around.
Next five write offs were not my fault, and 6 car pile up was deemed as knock for knock even though I was caught in the middle.......
Still i have 9 years ncb at the moment, fingers crossed
-
First accident - pratting about in my Ford Capri, hit the kerb and put it on its roof. Wrote off both the car and my ankle (got trapped underneath the pedal and broken on four places).
Written off four cars but that was the only one that was my fault.
One was ludicrous - my J-reg Cavalier 2.0 - which I'd only just bought - was parked outside my house on a main road when at 2am a stolen MkI Cavalier SRi with three chavs in it failed to notice the pedestrian island in the middle of the road (driver was pissed). Hit the island and then my car at what the police estimated was about 60mph. Wrote off both my car and the one parked in front of it. Found part of my rear spoiler in a neighbour's garden six doors down the road. And found the SRi's rear view mirror in my driver foot-well - having no rear seatbelts, the rear passenger had removed it with his head as he exited the windscreen and travelled into what was left of my motor. Amazingly, he survived. Even more amazingly, the driver ran off although was caught soon after. He got 3 years (TWOC, drink driving, dangerous driving, uninsured, no license, and had cocaine on him when caught as a bonus).
-
Coming out of Tesco about a week after passing my test. Made it all the way to Bristol no bother, stopped for a drink before going into ikea and got my feet a bit muddled up. Only doing about 10mph but hit a banged up old Escort van from behind. Dented the bonnet a little and smashed a headlight on my mk2 astra duo!. The bloke got out, went - "not sure which bit you have done so dont worry mate" then drove off! Only one I've had and a lucky escape really!
-
17 and looking at birds in their short shorts while cruising about WITH the missus in the car, went straight into the back of a brand new Laguna
Absolutely totalled my Mini, not a scratch on the Laguna so I didn't care lol
-
My one and only crash was on a TZR125 and resulted in me needing resucitation and a lengthy stay in hospital
Was my fault, trying to undertake an XR2.
-
Got t-boned on a junction in a mazda 626 that my dad made me buy because he was sick of me buying daft unreliable cars, i hated that car but i still remember the blood curdling scream from my mate ben in the passenger seat  got it fixed then stuffed it up the back end of a vw camper on a roundabout.
Also lost control of my rover 220sdi on gravel and barrel rolled it down a country lane on christmas day, walked away from that.
-
my first crash-ish was the day after it was icy in a volvo 440 diesel,
60 down some country road which was fine untill i got to a shady corner that was still ice.
sideway all the way round it and got round the corner fine but the car didnt want to stop going round the corner.ended up hitting the verge on the inside of the corner doing a 360 and landing 1foot away from a tree in a small ditch.
not a scratch on the car but i had to get towed out by a rover.
still havent told my dad, that was over two years ago
-
locked up in the snow in a single lane and hit the ditch instead of the van or fence, and also heading towards mcdonalds drive-thru with a friend in his c2, when a young girl who works there in a pink convertible ka just reversed out and pushed us about a foot sideways, touch wood i don't crash my car
-
Wow some of you have had a few.
This was mine:
Thought the steering rack had come off or something, was such an odd experience just having no grip on diesel. Just moved out the way and a KA came and smacked into the same barrier.
Was well upset cause other then the grill, car was finally looking half decent, just needed a rear bumper sprayed and some alloys. Now I have no motivation for it.
This is it now:

Mates van from last Saturday:
Could you believe nearly 2K worth of damage from that?
-
I had one in a fiests about 5 months after passing my test, girl decided to change lanes in traffic and went into the side of me,
Then I!!! had to pay for the damage to the car as the insurance couldn't decide who was at fault.
Had a few in the police cars at work too when on blue light runs!

About 2 month ago. I said the bmw was gunna be the 1st car i crash and i was right. Just a shame it wasnt justified (i was driving normally and not trying to slide it )

Gutting isn't it?
I wasn't doing 100mph or lifting off round roundabouts, I had just slowly pulled away doing 8MPH in traffic.
-
Balljoint separated on my Classic Mini. It was a bit messy as it threw me into a hedgerow. Still, got it repaired on the insurance and then restored the rest of it

Yep, may have only been doing 15-20mph but theres abit of weight pushing it into a barrier. Lesson learnt = check rear tyres for tread

1st ? drove a scorpion light tank into a 12ft ditch  driving at night with no lights, doing about 35 along a farm track, commander says BRAKE RIGHT TURN 50YDS, i brake, left track locks up and we skid and tank gracefully dives into ditch on left side almost on its turret, my lid splits open on co-ax gimpy barrel, commander saves himself by ducking into turret and we come to a halt with smoke pouring from everywhere, we both scramble out of tank expecting it to go up any minute [ sparks and petrol = not good ] and run away
-
I wrote off my Seat Ibiza before i'd even passed my test...
Thought i'd just broken the bumper, turned out i'd broken an engine mount, the subframe, a spring and a bush. Still managed to drive it home, it's now just sitting in my garden waiting to be fixed, been there for about 7 months... and then moving it one of the driveshafts popped out.
