Well done, you've got past the worst of it now :afro:
-
Cheers chaps......feel quite good about myself really

Same here... stopped on the 1st July and said i would do it for the whole of july. Dont think i will start again either.. stepped up the boxing training though
I read a really cool list of facts of what happens to your body day by day after you stop... very interesting, worth a look :nerd:

Good work gents and at over £7 a packet you'll notice the difference in your pocket too. One word of warning though, it takes six weeks for the receptors in your brain to disappear and if you have one puff of one ciggy you'll put the little feckers back in there and it will take another six weeks for them to disappear.

I tried a couple of weeks ago too, had a couple of 24 hr stints without one, then gave up giving up!
Its hard when everyone you work with smokes and offers you one all the time, then you come home and the missus doesnt close the door when she's out having a fag. It smells so good!!!
Meh, quittings for quitters!
-
Holy crap i bought my misses a pack of golden V and it cost £14!!!
Good job on the fags mate, I still get tempted but it gets easier

There are only really two rules, stop completely, and don't think you can just have the odd one.
Stick to them and you'll be clean
-
congrats mate. any advice? I managed a week then cracked.
-
All I can say is having the right frame of mind seems to have done it fo me.........4 weeks now with any help (gone from 30ish a day for 27yrs to nothing)
I WANTED TO QUIT!!
I reckon thats why I have.
Thanks for all the comments though Guys, believe it or not, it does help reading them.
Toby

fair play thats quite an achievement if u were smoking 30ish a day! i only have about 10 rollups a day and find it hard to quit (tried a few times but weak minded)

I WANTED TO QUIT!!
That is why you are succeeding. The best thing to do from experience is just take one day at a time, and DON'T have the odd fag, you will get hooked again instantly.
-
I quit for a year, then once I reached that mile stone I thought, hmmm, one won't hurt.
Now I'm smoking again. But nowhere near as much as I was, before I quit I would go through 50g of Golden Virginia in 5 days
-
quit 11 months ago myself, was a 20 Regal Filter a day man, was in the shop the other day with my mate and bought 20 marlboro lights and it was £7.20 :O couldnt believe it, glad I quit...
hardest part is when your having a drink, well i find that still tough cos its so easy to give in when the beer is in lol
best of luck and hope ya stay smoke free :) £50quid a week more towards the golf :)

I gave up on the 1st October 2010 after 15 years when I found out I had a skin cancer and once you get it in your lungs you’re not getting rid of it. A scare definitely gives you the determination to never go back to it.
I still fancy a cigarette every now and again and I don't think that will ever go away being an ex smoker. I hope I never go back to it now after so long as I will feel so disappointed in myself and I know after giving up before for 3 months, 1 cigarette will lead to another and before you know it you will be back smoking full time.
