Hi experts, can you advise if the R brake set-up including discs will fit the GTI? I don't see any reason why not but i'll leave you lot to correct me or confirm they go on without any mods needed.
Cheers,
Jim

Jim mah dear. First, get your sound system sorted and you won't bother with the rest of your 'to-do' list. Music is the food of love for your unnamed GIT.

Yes the R/S3/TTS set up will fit your golf mate no probs at all.

Are they exactly the same caliper?
Thanks mate,
Jim

Is anyone able to provide me with the part number for the Golf R calipers please?
Thanks in advance,
Jim

They all use the same brake (345mm i think) set up, just us that use the girly 312mm brakes. Best look on other car forums, Audi and Seat for someone selling there brake set up. Leon Curpra R uses the same set up too I am sure

Yes, they are all the same parts.
Prices new (and I've not checked for quite some time), the red SEAT ones used to be the cheapest and they will match your rear brake caliper colours too.
The cheapest red ones were always Sere Motors on cupranet which were £625ish plus postage brand new from the dealer, including hoses etc.
Yet another mod I've researched loads in the past and never got round to doing.
Second hand they go from about £350ish upwards for a worn set and Ironside's almost new set is a very good price.
You can very occasionally find Audi A3 3.2 set ups too which are unpainted, or at least the ones I've seen were plain silver and dirt coloured. These are usually quite cheap if you can find a set (ideal for GTDs!)

Thanks mate, are you saying about £625 new?

Thanks mate, I need the part numbers as a mate of mine owns a garage and I want to see what he can get them for me for.
Any ideas?

Thanks Neil I spotted those the other day. That price is very close to the ones that I can get for just over £600 and they are already red.
I might have a look at your bad boys on Saturday if you go

There are some better options than the pig iron heavy R/S3/Cupra R 345mm setup for a very similar price IMHO.
The Porsche 4 Pot Boxster's that fit over the standard disc's would be my choice on a budget.
