Title: De-Resticted Air box? Yay or Nay?

Is it worth de-restictin my air box on my mk4 2002 1.8 Turbo?

Any help guys?

It helps a bit, not much though, just depends if you can be bothered. A panel filter is a must though  :smiley:

Ok thanku, how Wud I go about doing it if I wanted it done? Can u send me a link on how to do it yourself. Or a step by step guide? And yes I'm Gunna order a pippercross panel filter next week to? :-)

Literally just cut and smooth the little 'walls' of plastic inside the box.

I wouldnt do it, i did it to my last car, astra diesel, and it had noticeably less low down torque, the fins stop the box from accumulating dead air. Of course if your running high pressure turbo numbers then the induction pressure should negate that.

Made naff all difference on mine, I might even sell you my drilled and derestricted airbox if you want lol

i did it on mine,  made no diffrence at all on the RR  seems a waste of life  :laugh:

I've just replaced mine for a cone filter relocated in the bumper, so have an ITG panel filter and a cold air feed that goes from the bumper to the airbox for sale if you're interested.
