Right, dont get started on the iPhone is sh1te tip again
BUT i need advice on how to update the bloody phone to the latest iOS4.3.3 Problem is, I have an older MacBook still running OS10.4.11 and iTunes states it needs to be 10.5 or higher to install iTunes 10+, and without this the iTunes states there is a new iOS for the phone but when you click upgrade it doenst bother and states "the latest version of iTunes is already installed" which clearly it isnt!!!! DFM
So, is there a work around or any genuine helpful advice on how to do this without jailbreaking the damn thing...God knows its tempting with Apple proving to be c0cksuckers...how can you update an iOS thats deliverable via iTunes and then stops people with older versions without expecting people to slag them off for being greedy...and I know I can get 10.5 as a boxed package for £29 but its besides the point!!! The Mac aint broke and it works well without being bloated with loads of sh1te :lipsrsealed:

VirtualBox, install Windows (easier than installing OS X) install itunes, use the USB passthrough to connect the iphone to the virtual PC and update it. (If that works, never tried updating an iphone that way and probably very experimental, but I think you'd be the first  )

If you had an HTC you'd get proper smooth updates.
-
Uninstalled iTunes then redownloaded it?

£20.99 to upgrade to Lion, i currently have latest version of Snow Leopard?
-
Isn't that for 3 or 5 Mac's? So you're paying £5~ a machine?
-
glad that apple are keeping the price down again. The only operating systems I have ever bought on their own and not part of a system are Windows XP and Apple Snow Leopard. Both are awesome and still use XP!

Snow Leopard was a 64-bit upgrade and behind the scenes overhaul, Lion is a proper OS upgrade (like XP to 7, yeah, I meant to miss out Vista ). You are right Jay, very generous of them to offer it so cheaply and so freely as well.
-
Vis... what?
to be fair they used to make their money through hardware sales, now it's hardware + itunes, the OS sales are insignificant in comparison.

What happened to the upgrade??? All I can find is the paid versions??
-
that is the upgrade, but I'd wait until Lion comes out SOON (as in a matter of hours/days, apparently). The full retail version of the OS usually costs £130, I know that as I looked for the OLD version, Tiger, and was shocked ( so torrented it).

tempting to go to the newsgroups...but i want a non hacked version...with no issues when I go back to upgrade the wireless card as i now have 30mb  and it does deliver unlike the numptees at BeThere
