any 1 know how to remove ecu ????????
Scuttle panel off, bulk head cover in the engine bay comes off with 10mm nuts, then it's a matter of bending the security mount around the ecu so you have room to unclip the ecu plugs a then slide the ecu out. Another way is to drill or grind off the shear bolts.

I'd not bend the ECU cage nor take a drill or grinder to it....
Instead take your time and use a dremel to score small slots into the security bolts on the ECU cage and use a flat head screwdriver to unscrew them, then if you want to replace the security bolts you can buy new ones from VW and jobs a good 'un
I'll post some pics to show you what I mean on Friday when I'm back in the UK.

I will try that next time :-)
The method to bend the mount works well but involves a lot of manipulation, it's only the back of the security tab that gets bent just enough to slide the ecu back to get the front plug off, then the whole cage and ecu will come out with ease, and can go back in tidy. Only down fall with this method is cut and scratched nuckles :-(
