The daily seems to eat top mounts. I always use genuine g60 front mounts and they last about a year and a half of daily usage.
Harsh coilovers dont help but is there a stronger topmount off other models? mk3 vr6? Would that fit?
Tired of changing these.
-
year and a half of daily abuse is not like you change them every month   surely there is uprated poly type mounts ?
-
Have a search, there are details on fitting the mk3 mounts, I cant remember the list of bits needed from the mk3 though. They are supposed to be tougher....

No stonger tbh, poly ones are available but very harsh.

Yeah get the mk3 ones, you need a couple of extra bits, but these can be bought from the dealers for very little

yes i did the search before I posted. Just cant seem to find the right threads.
I was thinking mk3 vr6 mounts as those weigh about 5 tonne

From what I have read, VR6 top mounts are not heavier duty

Think ill stick with standard parts then.
Only get 1.5 years TOPS for a front set. Not good as it adds up (cost of specialist lowered car tracking etc)
-
deffo get vr6 mounts mate, the bearings are better designed and no sh!tty slotted nut!
-
VR6 ones mate, chat to G-werks as he charges a fair price for everything you need.
-
VR6 mounts are the same as 16v mounts i asked them to check at main dealer when i bought some for mine (for a mk3 this is)
-
nice one ladies :)
So i just need parts 21, 28, 25 and bonus 24?

IIRC all the later (96 on) mk3 top mounts are identical, 1.4 to 2.8
-
are you running strut n springs or coilovers? if springs you need no 26 as well, but i can't remeber what vehicle you need it from, think its a base spec mk3 (maybe the 4 stud ones) as mk2 and 3 springs are different diameters at the top.
someone will know!
-
Running soilovers so i may not need the cups for the mk3 setup :)
-
I stripped some mk3 ones but found that you need the early mk3 spring plate because the later one s are miles too small for the spring.
I did have a thread on here and rubjonny very nicely put the part numbers up.
