Title: Mk2 mk3 wishbone difference?

Is there a difference between the mk2 and mk3 wishbones? I'm trying to put a mk3 hub on my mk2 and the lower ball joint is slightly out of line :/

Aren't mk3 wishbones longer, for the wider track?

GTI / VR's are but all the lower models are the same I believe
