Title: Transmission/gearbox fit?

Would a Golf MK1 1300 5-spd gearbox (2001 model) fit onto a Golf MK1 1600 Citi Sport (1986 model)?

The bell housing seems the same, but not sure of the linkages.

No Idea, really not clued up on CITI golfs.  Surely there must be better resources locally to you?

If they are both big block engines yes, 1.3 might be a small block however.
