No car I have owned has picked up so much damage which was not my fault. I could not understand why.
My nephew's 3 week old Shadow Blue Golf Match was stolen from outside his flat in Knightsbridge last Wednesday. I told him to put a Disklok on the steering wheel. At least this would have made them think twice. The Police told him that when they find it difficult to steal a car, they vandalise it. They also told him the Golf Mk6 is the most stolen and vandalised car in the UK. Nice to know.
Kia for me next!

So did they take the keys? or just take it another way?
I actually like Kia's you can tell they employed ex Audi and VW guys by alot of the equipment and looks, and non of my family have had problems yet with any of there hyundai's or kia's :embarassed:

No. They did not take any keys as he lives in a large block of flats. The car was parked halfway down a one way street with cars parked on either side. He was also in a tight parking spot. No other car was stolen at that time according to the police.

According to the police’s ACPO Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service, the Golf is 4th on the list. The second most nicked motor was the Vauxhall Astra, with the Ford Fiesta third.
An AVCIS spokesman said: “It’s not just those with high-end vehicles that need to be wary of theft.
The top 10 stolen vehicles were: 1) Ford Transit 2) Vauxhall Astra 3) Ford Fiesta 4) Volkswagen Golf 5) Vauxhall Corsa 6) BMW 3 Series 7) Ford Focus 8) Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 9) Ford Mondeo 10) Honda Civic

Sorry to hear that Asker. The stat explains my insurance company pushing up the premium by £600 and when I rang up and went 'WTF?' they explained that based on a multitude of variables, they deemed that the risk on the car had increased, none of which were attributable to me I might add! I asked to be transferred to cancellations and the operator knocked £117.25 off without even hesitating. Is there anything else I can help you with today? Yes, the other £482.75.
I'm looking for a car for my wife and I had not actually considered Kia so on your say so Snoops, I'll see what they offer.

JJH: Stolen + Vandalised, the Golf tops the list, I am told.

I knew I should have got a SEAT
Or a C'eed or whatever.

Kia Picanto. Great looking car. Good reviews. Stay away from the Polo. Ful lof problems. ARC Bodyshop had to sent 4 out of 7 back as they were full of faults.

Never really even considered them so I'll go and kick some tyres. Mrs AGB likes the looks of the new Fiesta Titanium/Zetec (white) and Polo GTI (white) and I agree that both are good looking cars but the Polo price is beyond ridiculous. She may feel that the Kia looks like a 'clown car', a blueprint many city cars seem to embrace. If she was more confident in a car and experienced, I'd be able to get something exotic with 2 seats and an Amorak or Tiguan for the 'lifting and shifting'.

You'd be very surprised by the Kia Picanto. Go and have a look. It is a 4 star car. Designed by Peter Schreyer who designed the TT.

Mike, I saw that list in Auto Express. They also said that overall the Golf (all models) hit the top spot for most stolen car in the UK ....... if I remember correctly or incorrectly. :undecided:
Now, nobody steals or vandalises a Kia, my next car. :smug:

We have a kia cee'd and a hyundai i10(new kia picanto in drag) in our family. They replaced a VW golf and a polo. The owners could not be happier with there new family run abouts. No rattles, no creaks + great customer service from the dealers too.

Well, there is a happy ending. My nephew found his car tonight in a Resident's Parking bay purely by accident on his way back from the cinema. He had forgotten where he had parked it! If he had not gone to the cinema tonight, and he rarely does, the car would probably never have been discovered! Dizzy b!tch.

Mike: Found the article in Auto Express. It says that the Golf is the most vandalised car in the Uk. However, you are correct regarding specific car models of certain makes. So I presume they mean all Golf models.
