can you not take off the engine cover for a better look? is it the pipe thats split or the temp sender seal?
itll not be any in the first link you put up as there all breather pipes, an i THINK that all the parts on that pipe come as a unit (20) think thats why there in brackets

water temp sender
-
Cheers,is that the proper name of part to ask for ? If so I'll get it ordered today hopefully
-
the green plug is the temp sender, theres a plastic collar you pull out to remove it, get a new seal and collar if its leaking
-
+1 ^ easy to fix and around £22?
-
Its actually the black plastic pipe that's split that the temp sender is sitting in

Snap, had this on our AUM last year. Coolant flange. This is a common problem.... The o-ring that seals it to the head degrades from the heat and starts to leak.
Flange 06A121132AP (£12)
Drain the coolant. Get the battery and airbox etc out. Its kinda fiddly as the access aint great. If you had it in mind to delete the SAI combi-valve etc its a good time to do it with this lot off.
Make sure you clean the head up real well before re-fitting the new flange

no idea what that means sorry

The AUM has an air pump that comes on briefly after startup (revs sit at 1200 ish). This can be removed to clean up the engine bay, but you have to remove the coolant flange first. Just thought I'd mention it if you were thinking to go down that road.

the secondary air pump? if so i did the fix on that a while ago,is there a readme/howto?

just waiting on stuff coming from ebay and forge for removing the secondary air pump, what are people using to block off the hole on the standard air box? just a homemade botch or is there a specific thing for the job?
-
okie dokie did this today removed secondary air pump and changed flange and temp sender, second pic you can see split in old flange just on the seam,in the third pic whats the rectangular thing in the middle of the shot? it has neuspeed or something written on it,this is the first job on a car like this i've ever done so i'm well chuffed, now have a coolant system full of lovely g12 and no loud noise at start up

its the gear selector, neuspeed must mean you have a short shift fitted
-
yeah guy said when i bought it there was one fitted and when i got the car remapped guy asked about it,but i didnt know make or anything but its not very good might see about changing that, for the hole on the side of the airbox i just made a plastic plug and then wrapped some black tape round it until i decide if i'm gonna get an induction kit or not

Good work Jockgti
I feel your pain mate, I've just completed this over the weekend too. How much trouble did you have getting the SAI pump and bracket out?
-
i just left bracket on,removed the power steering hose that gets in the way of pulling the pump out and bingo,i've had the pump out before to fix the rivets that loosen over time

After removing the secondary pump / n249 / evap , will I need to reset the throttle body ? As it won't let me go above 5000rpm, Without throwing it's toys out the pram
It's ok I found out I popped a fuse ,
