Title: Thinking of buying a Golf TDI GT 130
Post by: indigti3 on 08 July 2011, 11:02
hi guys, I have seen a golf gt tdi 130, the car is really nice, however I have a few concerns:

1.  The engine cover has TDI written in silver, not the red DI as I would expect.

2.  The car has no spoiler above the rear tailgate.

3.  The car has done 155k.

4.  There is no history with the car

5.  The log book doesn't say what version of GT TDI it is ( if it is, am not so sure now)

If anyone can put my mind at rest as to what I am actually buying is a real TDI 130 because I am not so sure.

Thanks

Indi.

No spoiler means nothing, my 150 GTi doesn't have one, some do.

Red lettering, check here http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=90977.0

Whip the engine cover off and look for the three letter engine code, then we can tell you which it is

the car is quite far from me, however when I checked the boot sticker near the tyre, it said 96KW, is that enough to confirm what car it is?

Thanks in advance guys.

If your having big doubts then walk away, but I think the points you are concerned about are no big problems, apart from the service history.  My opinion would be that never buy a turbo car unless its for a full service history or has been done by owner.

That's the power in KW, which is 130BHP.

thats brilliant, will be buying this car tonight then.

Cheers guys.

With regards to history, I know it hasn't got any but the car is spotless and I am willing to take a punt on it.  First thing i'll do is find a specialist locally who can service it and do the cambelt.

do we have a list of indi's on this forum?  ( apart from me that is lol )
