Title: Wheel Advice
Post by: nightroamer on 07 July 2011, 18:00
Hi guys,

looking for wheel advice, mainly size.

I want something that looks like lenso bsx type wheels, but better quality.

Currently the car is not lowered although it will be on coli overs sometime in the next year or so and i will want a drop, but not too low (speed bumps everywhere here!!)

what can you suggest and what size wheels will fit on a golf?

thanks

Calibre Vintage, same style, massive difference in quality. Talking from experience, had both sets.

The Calibre Vintage are a very good alternative although I've not seen them in 16". Only 17 & 18.

Best rs/rm alike I've seen. Could also go with 17" to fill the arch if you're not going that low.

Wayne how wide should I go in inches and what sort of offset don't want any rubbing if possible.

Lowest offset you can realistically do at the front is ET25, rear ET15... lower if you shove a camber shim in there.

Would the Vintage Calibre 17x8's be ok? cant find the offset?

Has anyone fitted them? can i lower a little still?

Yep 205/40/17's tyres are what you need, I ran the same size with a 45mm drop all ok.

I believe ET32 is the Vintage offset, they sit pretty much flush with the arch, so you can either run stretched tyres or roll the arch, althought the rubbing without arch roll is minimum - depends how slammed you want it to be.

Double drilled is 2 fitments.

Yes they will fit but you may need to tweak the arches.
