Ok so i bought a golf gti 1.8t mk4 last week. And the key snapped. Its a fob key, and everything else works electrically. The metal part has split at the part where it it flicks. Called the good ol stealers up, 130 + vat and 50 to recode, this is to replace the whole key of course. Does anyone have any DiY methods for fixing the split key, or anyone that could fix for me?
BTW the golf is an amazing drive and certainly the best feeling car ive drove. Its all golf for me from now on ha
Thanks for any help

Go to a key cutters. They can replace the end bit on your key and cut you a new one.
otherwise order new fob and get it cut and move the transponder from your current one into your new one requiring no faffing about
