You already have that turbo on your car, so.. nope wont make a difference.

Am i right in thinking that it's different to the one on my 99(T) 1.8T and if so will it make any difference to mine?

Actually that is a k03s which is what comes on the 180bhp tt/anniversary model golf so will probably produce 20-30bhp more than the standard k03 that comes on the 150bhp 1.8t golfs with a remap. You can also fit a k04 to a 150bhp golf which can make 250bhp with a remap.I think the first thing to do if you haven't done already is too go for a remap you should get approx 200bhp and then go from there.

every 1.8T after AGU ('99) came with a K03s, they just changed the software and added vvt to the 180bhp models (2003-ish models)

boggle, it will show an improvement on your car but you'll need a custom remap

golf1.8t to get the kind of power advertised on ebay you just need a 4bar fpr and remap

did'nt the early 2001's have ko3 and the later 2001 have ko3s.  Might be worth checking! :undecided:

i heard it was after 8/00 they where k03s as standard.
AUM,ARZ have k03s
AGU have k03
check under under bonnet for engine code.

ye mines a AUM so if i up the fpr to a 4bar 1 what does that mean i would be getting 180bhp with any remapping or do i have to do something else to basicly what do i do to get 180 with out a remap if i have that turbo already.

well you could spend thousands upgrading internals and porting/polishing everything.. or just go for a remap.

vw upped the boost for the 180bhp's with a slightly stronger map in the ecu. remap alone should see you with about 210bhp, with revo's 4bar specific software (remap)  and a 4bar fpr you can see 235-240 depending on exhaust/cat/filter.

ok ive got a stright throught exhaust piper x air filter so wen i get my jabba chip and adjust boost control kit they clam from 216-230bhp if i up the fpr would i expect a bit more.

you'll probably find mike at jabba will put a 4bar fpr on as part of the deal to get those sorts of figures.

My engine code is AUM and it is fitted with the ko3s at the factory.  It is only a 150bhp model tho.
Then add Revo, a ram air filter and a 4 bar
Take it to the rolling road
220bhp - 247lb tourqe

Happy days all round.

A lot of people recon that it ain't worth getting a KO4 on the golf if you got a KO3's as the difference is minimal :undecided:

Oh yeah, the AUM is VVT too, even tho its only 150 as standard

k04-001 is the one that isnt much better than the k03s, but its a straight swap

k04 off S3/225TT is new plumbing/manifold time !
